Changes to the additional duty rate on goods from the USA (CIP9/2018)
Find out about the change to the additional duty rate applied to the import of certain goods from the USA.
Introduction
Since May 2005, additional custom duties have been applied on the import of certain goods from the United States of America. This was a counter measure to what was commonly known as the ‘Byrd Amendment’.
This customs information paper confirms a change to the additional duty rate applied to the list of those goods affected.
From 1 May 2018, the products listed below will be subject to an additional Customs Duty rate of 0.3%. This is a decrease of the current additional rate which is 4.3%.
