CDS Release 5.1.0 - Guidance for traders
CDS Release 5.1.0 will be delivered on the 28th March 2026.
Attached are guidance documents relating to the upcoming CDS Release 5.1.0, which is due to go live on the 28th March 2026. These documents provide an early view of the contents of this release but may be subject to change. HMRC will issue updated guidance of any changes, if needed.
The documents below are:
- The release guidance for all items that may affect declarations.
- Detailed instructions on how to declare certain document codes on Northern Ireland declarations to avoid compatibility issues with the EU CERTEX system.
- A spreadsheet showing the Appendix 5A changes relating to the CERTEX system.
- A spreadsheet containing the Appendix 5A instructions for non-CERTEX-related document code validation changes.
- A sample spreadsheet showing the format changes for Goods Location Codes in Appendix 16C: Maritime Ports and Wharves.
All of these spreadsheets are provided for information only. The correct Appendices in the Declaration Completion Instructions should be used to determine the correct details to be declared on CDS.
