Low Value Import Reform - Consultation Outcome and Draft Legislation Published

The Government has published its response to the consultation on the reform of low value imports, alongside draft legislation for the measure.

We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the development of these reforms, whether by submitting a consultation response or participating in stakeholder discussions. Your feedback has played an important role in shaping the design of the new arrangements.

The consultation response sets out the Government’s decisions on the design of the new arrangements and explains how stakeholder feedback has informed those decisions. Alongside the response, we have also published draft primary legislation to begin the process of legislating for these changes.

You can view the published documents here:

Consultation outcome: Reforming the customs treatment of low value imports into the United Kingdom

Draft legislation: Reforming customs rules for low value imports - GOV.UK

While today’s publications provide clarity on the Government’s policy decisions, we recognise that successful implementation will depend on continued collaboration. We therefore look forward to continuing to work closely with businesses and stakeholders as we develop the detailed requirements for the new arrangements.

Thank you again for your continued engagement.

Kind regards,

Low Value Import Reform Team
